October 2003

Club Run Report:

Barrett Lake Trail was Jims Run for the Month of September. Present were Jim, Alan, And Corey. It was a great trip, everyone had fun, no break downs, and no tow fund donations.  Sounds too good to be true to me.

The Egg City Round Up was held.  A couple Club Members were there and had a good time.

Blood run:

October 16th will be the next blood run. Meet at 6:30pm at the blood bank, Mary’s Pizza afterwards.

Adopt-A-Trail / Conservation:

Corey has reported that there is no report for this month. The Cow Mountain clean up day may or may not be on still.  There were conflicting reports and we have no true answer at this point.

Safety:

This month we would like to address the topic of seat belts.  Anyone who is in a moving vehicle should wear a seat belt at all times. There was a fatal accident at Rubicon last month that may have been prevented provided the driver was wearing his seat belt. The driver was an experienced driver of the Rubicon trail and there was no alcohol involved in the accident. The vehicles simply rolled onto the driver side and the driver fell out. The vehicle then killed the driver when it rolled the rest of the way on top of him. Don’t take chances that this may never happen to you. 4 wheeling can be a dangerous sport, lets all take the  extra 2-3 seconds to buckle up and be safe.
