Last month’s run was the annual
Winter Fun event! And from what I hear it defiantly was “Winter Fun”. With more
snow on the ground than in past years, trails this year proved bit challenging.
Lets just say that Donnie’s rear end went out completely this time before he
even got on the trail, he went to town, got it fixed and then meet up with his
group by lunch time, which had only gotten about two miles!! Of course there
were other parts breaking around the club. Turns out that Mark, our club
secretary, donated 4 or 5 quarts of power steering fluid to the 4x4 gods, as
his power steering hose kept hemorrhaging.
The club tradition of serving
Saturday morning breakfast continued this year. All estimates show that we
served 440+ breakfasts this year. That’s a lot off eggs and potatoes! The other
meals this year lacked the quality that it had in past years but I guess thats
what happens when these events get as big as they do.
Some of our members went on runs
Sunday which proved to be the looong...day of the weekend. Mud holes and Jeep
Rubicon’s that refused to air down their tires proved to make it a long day.
Delegate’s Report
When winching keep your hands out of there! It is a good idea to have a strap or rope tied to the end of your cable. So that your fingers stay intact, just ask one of the participants of winter fun. The good news is that he was warring gloves so they did not have to look for his fingers. As always you should follow all club guidelines for safe winching.
